Young Artists Competition
The Tuesday Musical Club, Inc., holds the distinction of being the oldest music club for women in Texas. Mrs. Eli Hertzberg (Anna), who was a graduate of the New York Conservatory of Music, founded the Tuesday Musical Club in 1901 for the purpose of performing and discussing classical music.
Currently, the Club numbers about 250 members. Since 1956, the Young Artists Competition is held each Spring for serious students of music who reside or study in Texas. The competition is held for piano, voice, or strings in rotating years.
Within the age range of 18 through 26 on the day of the competition
A resident of the state of Texas, or is a student in a Texas school, or is studying with a private teacher in Texas
Is not a previous First Place winner of this competition
Is not under professional management
The 2014 Competition is in piano and will be held on March 1, 2014.
